That's right. Paneling is back! You may have noticed a lot of social media influencers showing off their new paneled rooms. It's a trend that started to pick up a few years ago but has since taken off. Now it seems you can't access Facebook, Instagram, Tik-Tok, or any others without someone showing you how to do it. It's a relatively easy process and the results are astounding. A few properly cut boards, nails, epoxy, and paint and your room can go from flat and boring to bold and elegant. Depending on the size of the room many paneling projects can be completed in just one day. There is no need to rush the process and taking your time will ultimately result in a better outcome. In rooms with larger ceilings it's not always necessary to go all the way up. In fact choosing a good height to stop at will allow the room to feel more grounded. Large cathedral ceilings are awesome; but can often feel too open for some. Paneling that stops shy of the ceiling helps to bring the ceiling itself closer by creating a new focal line for the eyes to stop at. Ultimately choosing to panel a room is a personal choice, it's been around for quite a while; gaining popularity in the 1950s through 1970s before returning to the market today. It's often best to not over do it; but that can be difficult if you don't have a plan. Start by sketching out what you want on paper; then lay it out with painters tape on the wall. If you still have trouble visualizing, turn to a 3D rendering software or ask an #InteriorDesigner for help. #DeLayDraftingandDesignSolutions is a great resource for all things #ResidentialConstruction.
