A Unique Trend in 2022 - Wet Rooms/Spas

Who doesn't love a good vacation in a 'fancy' hotel? Maybe we have a way to bring that fancy hotel feel back home with you! Although the 'wet room' / Home Spa isn't necessarily unique to 2022, it is certainly one we have to mention. DeLay Drafting and Design Solutions (DDDS) sees hundreds of homeowners a year who want an incredible experience when they walk into their #PrimaryBathroom. Often the idea is triggered after a homeowner visits a recently renovated hotel, which is primarily where this idea started. Whether the bathroom is just too big with an awkward amount of unused space (dead space), or it's too tight for a client's desire to have a tub and separate shower; a #WetRoom is one one of the best ways to achieve everything a client is hoping for. Ultimately it allows us to share a space for both a tub and shower. Not only is it a beautiful solution but it's also an incredibly functional one. Luxury: It's the name of the game these days. If you or your client is going to spend tens of thousands of dollars on their new primary bathroom, they are going to want it to feel like it's worth every penny. Not many homes have these elements and they certainly turn heads. It's also a great way to boost a home's value! Done well, your home will be the talk of the neighborhood and the homebuying market for it's awe-inspiring designer space. Real estate agents are often quick to point out a home that doesn't have a tub as part of the design; noting they are often 'more difficult to sell', but some spaces can't justify both a tub and shower unless you get creative. Maintenance & Hygiene: Hygiene is Always a common concern with any bathroom remodel. You or your client has just spent thousands of dollars on a brand new space; you're going to want to keep it looking clean and new for as long as you can. The wet room gives a homeowner the ability to quickly and effortlessly keep their shower and tub clean, especially when paired with a handheld shower head. Keep the grim away with a spray of your favorite tile cleaner, then rinse it away in seconds and pat dry. Simple! The room remains airy as the glass panels that often surround a wet room typically stop short of hitting the ceiling. This allows for the room to exchange air with the rest of the primary bathroom and also adds to your overall sense of freedom. Comfort: Imagine how freeing it is to be able to shower with no elbows banging against a wall, or not having a sense of feeling claustrophobic in a standard 36"x48" shower. Wet rooms allow you to truly embrace the feeling of being unconfined with it's spacious design and often open feel thanks to the surround glass panels. Whether you have a undermount tub or a freestanding unit a wet room allows you to enjoy your bathroom to it's fullest without feeling trapped or hidden away. Time for a soak and a sense of tranquility. Function: Wet rooms are great for #AgingInPlace as well... even more so if you have one built in your home with a #ZeroThreshold. A zero threshold shower is exactly how it sounds. No threshold or sill at the base of the door. Nothing impeding you from accessing your room, which means it's ideal for those in wheelchairs or walkers. Wet rooms are often spacious too which means there is ample room for at home nurse help or... more 'guest'...

So; if you have a bathroom that is awkward or too small; allow DDDS to show you if a Wet room is a solution!
