Obviously the #Kitchen from the #BarbieMovie is a bit of an extreme example, but you'd be surprised how many homeowners walk a fine-line between unique and overwhelming. Trust us when we say, we LOVE when a client wants to do something bold and inspiring... but within reason. A proper designer will allow a homeowner to explore their 'extreme side' while keeping them grounded throughout the design process. For many homeowners remodeling a room in their home is a one-time deal. After all it could cost $50,000 or more to #remodel a Kitchen in the #Chicag0Land Market. It's stressful, and sometimes frustrating... Who wants to do that more than once in their lifetime?! Not many.
When you begin your design journey, be sure to choose a theme you and your family can grow into; but also one that is enjoyable and fits your tastes. #DeLayDraftingandDesignSolutions will never say "Absolutely not" when it comes to a client's wises, but we will express any concerns we see with the vision and give solid solution. Take any design advice with a grain of salt; but remember, we see hundreds of #Remodeling projects in a year. We know where the trends are going and what you should consider. We will often allow someone's vision to inspire us in our designs, adding in a special color or material that stays true to the client's appreciation of why they chose that item to begin with.
A unique backsplash can do wonders for a Kitchen. If you love green for example, allow the main components of the space like cabinets and hardware to assist in the bold nature of your colored backsplash. Allow the backsplash to be your gem or crowning jewel. It will bring your favorite color into focus but do so without overwhelming your home and the rest of its style! Another great way to bring in your favorite color is with fixtures like a mixer or painted toaster. We tend to want to hide these fixtures away from guests, but as long as they are meant to be a spot of color here or there, they can add a bit of excitement to your room. We've said it before, #3Drendering is an amazing way to see just how your favorite color will enhance or hinder you or your client's space.
