Work with What You've Got (Do)

It's a pretty common practice to have a client reach out with the moon and stars in their proverbial hands. Sometimes they want everything under the sun, but aren't truly prepared for what that might cost or entail. This can often lead to disappointment and uncertainty about moving forward even in a preliminary sense. Don't let it.... Just because you had this incredible vision in mind because of something you came across on Pinterest, Instagram or Facebook doesn't always mean it can be done for you too. That said - don't let it stop you from seeing just what a talented designer can do in your space with your limitation (i.e. budget, space, comfort etc.) We have come across some incredible homeowners who fell in love with a photo, but fell in love with a design INSPIRED by their photo too; so be flexible. DeLay Drafting & Design Solutions can always; well... find a solution. In fact we love a good challenge. We meet conflicted clients all the time and often have to establish a few ground rules. Obviously we aren't out to crush dreams, but one should be prepared to hear the honest truth about what can and can't be accomplished with your space. A good designer will be able to take your inspiration and pull it apart to find out what exactly you like about it. We ask in depth questions about colors, furnishings, cabinets etc. to understand what you truly like about the space. We are sure you'll quickly realize that those items can be replicated on a grand or minimalist scale to meet your needs and constrictions. Afterall, if what you really love about the inspiration is the twelve foot ceilings, that isn't a realistic direction in your two-story home with eight foot ceilings.

Your dream space isn't always guaranteed to be identical to that amazing photoshopped photo you found, but we can get you close and use what you do have to embrace the details. Let our 3D renders show you what IS possible and give you a sense of how grand a seemingly difficult space can feel.
